We fell in love with Sunset Mountain Village during our first visit. After living in the Snowshoe area for about a year my husband and I decided to make SMV our permanent home. We live at 108 Northern Trail, and the view is magnificant, not to mention all of the other wonderful spots in the community to view a sunrise or have a picnic while looking at the scenery. The roads are well cared for, making it the perfect place to take a long walk with our dogs too. SMV is just a quick drive from Snowshoe Mtn Resort, and a great place to live!

After having chosen the Snowshoe area for our east coast home-away-from-home (hands-down best ski destination for the southeast and eastern seaboard), we were looking for a place to plunk down a home. We found SMV on the internet and one drive to the site and one visit with the developers were enough to remind us of the snowy heavenly scenes from our previous jaunts in Colorado or California. SMV sites are huge and the terrain varied, and the views spectacular from all of the sites. Suzanne and JF (the developers/founders) are awesome, very inviting, sincere, and interesting people. The area is beautiful and has all of the amenities you need close by (but not *too* close!). And Delta Airlines has recently begun regular non-stop service to the nearest regional airport (about 60-80 minutes from SMV) from Atlanta. Makes it a no-brainer in my book!
